I did an internship at working with nix to advance their cybersecurity learning platform

Nix #

The internship used nix the seperate the cybersecurity learning infrastructure from the challenge specific docker image to allow for maximum control for challenge authors

Issues #

Nix is not meant to be used on non-nixos systems to use systemd services or graphical environment which caused issues that we eventually solved by manually launching dbus

Result #

The internship resulted in nix getting deployed to thousands of cybersecurity learners to better their education along with their partners
